Me and my ego went hiking

And they gathered ‘round

Hootin’ and hollerin’

Cajoling with raised spears and sticks

Inching me back ‘til my heels met the cliff

And they smiled one big smile, they did

And mocked with a commemorative twirl

Then kicked me square in the chest

And as I fell, arms twirling about

I heard ‘em yellin’

“Sorry we lied all the lies”

“No hard feelings, Old Friend”

Even now, they hug me when they see me

Even now, they know they are snakes

But, yeah, that’s the day

Thats the day my ego died
